Kevin Hamm– CEO
Kevin’s career has shown a consistent pattern of fast track success. After completing his undergraduate studies at Seattle Pacific University in 1985, his professional career began in Seattle as a Sales Representative working for a Managing General Agency in the life insurance and investment arena. Within eight months, he was the number 3 producer out of 400 sales representatives nationally. He was promoted to Branch Sales Manager and helped the Tacoma office become the number one office in the country. Five months later, he was promoted again and transferred to manage the company’s Denver region, bringing that office from a ranking of 32nd to the rank of 3rd in production within a span of only nine months.
California Hospitals Affiliated Insurance Services (CHAIS) recruited Kevin in May 1989, to develop a sales and marketing campaign for CHAIS Workers’ Compensation. With CHAIS, he developed one of the first Association sponsored Captive Insurance programs in the U.S. a result of his direct marketing effort, premiums increased from $4.5 million in his first year to over $50 million annually just two years later. Ultimately, over 75% of all insured hospitals in California and more than 35% of all long term care facilities in California participated in one of the workers compensation insurance captives led by his marketing efforts. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing he accepted an award from the “Sacramento Bee” honoring CHAIS as one of Northern California’s “25 Fast Track Companies.”
In May 1994, Kevin became the Founder, President and C.E.O. of Intercare Insurance Services in Sacramento, California. Intercare quickly became one of the largest insurance agencies in Sacramento and Northern California. By the year 2000, Intercare had written in excess of $84 million in annual premium volume making Intercare one of Northern California’s fastest growing agencies and the 5th largest in the Sacramento and Northern California region.
Kevin’s unique approach to the insurance industry included an ability to create innovative solutions and risk management techniques to help companies lower their overall loss ratios. To create this biosphere of complimentary risk management services, Intercare developed it’s own claims administration company and a host of other companies in the cost containment arena. Kevin was able to create and develop the first PBM (Pharmacy Benefits Management) to electronically administer a network for workers compensation claims in the United States, it’s own on-line durable medical equipment network, nurse case management company, and PPO and medical networks to name just a few. Intercare grew to more than 500 employees and in excess of $50,000,000 in commissions and administration revenue by 2005.
In 2009, Kevin sold his ownership of Intercare Insurance Solutions (the brokerage) and the majority interest of Intercare Insurance Services (claims administration) and focused his full time efforts running Intercare Specialty Risk (a fledgling MGA/MGU, program administrator, and wholesale agency).In just three years, Intercare Specialty Risk has grown from just $3M in premium to over $110,M of in-force premium. To prevent marketplace confusion, the company changed it’s name to Phoenix Risk Management representing it’s rise from the fledgling company to a position of market strength.
Tom Pratt– President
Tom has specialized in fine art and collectibles insurance for over 25 years with firms such as Allen Insurance Associates, Kaye Fine Arts & Special Risks Group and Thomson and Pratt Insurance Associates. A California State University, Northridge (CSUN) alumnus with a degree in Theatre Arts, Tom has also studied Art History at Santa Monica College, UCLA and in Paris, France. Civic activities are important to Tom. He was elected President of the Vallecito Union School District (2014) as well as the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education (1998-2002). Tom was appointed to the Arts Commission for the City of Santa Monica (2003) as well as the Public Access Television Commission for Calaveras County (2011). He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Dean’s Council for the School of Arts at CSUN, Social & Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) and the Rotary Club. Tom is a member of the organization California Lawyers for the Arts and also serves as an expert witness for art insurance related matters from time to time.
Kim Anderson– Marketing Director / Account Manager
Kim Anderson joined the FACE Insurance team in 2011 as an account manager, bringing with her 12 years of commercial insurance experience. Having worked on both the wholesale and retail sides of insurance, Kim has honed her skills in marketing, quoting, underwriting, and sales and account management. She has an extensive administrative and accounting background, having worked as an executive assistant to multiple CEOs and business owners.
In the fall of 2013, Kim and Larry, her husband of now 28 years, moved to Columbia Falls, Montana to head-up the FACE Insurance-Montana office. Kim is enjoying her role as marketing director and presenting and selling FACE’s Museum Insurance and Brewery Winery Distillery -Pak Programs.
Family is very important to Kim. She is thrilled to have 2 of her three children living in the Columbia Falls area and being a Grandma to two beautiful little girls is the icing on the cupcake!
Crystal Sundberg– Customer Service Representative
Crystal Sundberg became a member of the FACE Insurance team in spring of 2015. Crystal graduated from Sacramento State University in May 2013 with a Bachelor’ s Degree in Liberal Studies after obtaining an AA from Sierra College. With over 1000 hours of community service working with organizations and charities, multiple scholastic awards, amazing marketing, clerical, accounting & people skills it was clear she was a perfect fit for FACE!
Recently married to Justin Sundberg, a Montana Native & BNSF Engineer, they are raising two adorable little girls here in Columbia Falls.
